Playing so well the whole season in 2007 GOLD Super Challenge and to miss out on the finals in the last game by 1 shot.
Crashing out of the Open Singles 2007 in the 1st Round after weeks of preperation.
I decided to move to a different club in 2007 in an effort to find a more professional approach to Pennant and Super Challenge. In the Four Years I had been here, there had been no real trial games for Super Challenge or Pennant, Teams seem to be thrown together using players that are often not compatible. I know there was a shortage of Top Quality Players at Broadbeach and although there were some good players, they tended not to take trials seriously enough for me. In my opinion, its no good having trials with just your own players who we play with week in and week out. The selectors should know what these players can do anyway. I have been treated very well by selectors and always given a fair go but in order to improve, I had to look elsewhere for further improvement. I will always stay a member of Broadbeach.
I Joined Paradise Point Bowls Club in July 2007 and put my name down to play Pennant 2007 Season here. I had limited time to show the selectors that I can play and get into a team. I also wanted to play Premier League and tried to impress with good Pennant Performances.
I stayed a member of Broadbeach Bowls Club and play there most Tuesday mornings. I was eligible to play Club Championships there and usually did unless they Clashed. The Mens and Ladies have built their teams up and had Very Good seasons in Super Challenge 2010 and Pennant 2009 and are a force now in both areas. The club had some termoil in 2008 with getting people to stand for positions and things were not looking too rosey until Barry & Collen Gilbert Took Control of the Clubs management. They are the kind of people the club needed to get things done. New Green Keepers have all 4 Greens as Good as any on the Coast. All the Members got behind them and the club is now in a strong position in all areas. The club has had a facelift and from the moment you enter, it looks like a Proud Bowls Club. New Caters has also made it "The Hub" of Broadbeach.
29th December 2010. I decided not to Rejoin Broadbeach for the 2011 Season as there seemed no real point now that I joined Cabarita Bowls Club NSW and cannot play for more than 1 Club in Championships anymore.
Broadbeach are very strong at present and although I still have a strong association with the club and its members and my many friends, at this stage I prefered to stay and play Super Challenge and Pennant for Paradise Point but that will be changing for Pennant 2011.
21st July 2011. I am now a Member of Cabarita Beach Sports Club (NSW) and McKenzie Park Bowls Club (QLD). I have many friends at Broadbeach and am so Happy to see the Club doing very well, Ladies and Mens and I predict that Both Ladies and Men will win Division 1 pennant flags this year.

29th November 2014. I Rejoined Broadbeach Bowls Club in November 2014 again so I had a Base Club on the Gold Coast after I resigned from Paradise Point. Commonwealth Games Club 2018 and certainly will be Interesting over the next few years although the Top Side is always going to be given Priority. I will play Club Pairs Championships here only as unless I get into Premier League Reserves I won't try to compete with the Many names that go down..
