Look forward to todays ENDURO Mens Pairs with Gordon Simms *************************************************************************************************************** Gorden and I had a good day. 1st game against John McVinish and Warren (Millsie) Mills. Rink 1 and we handled it well and won 25-6 in a good win 2nd game against Phil Capon and Tony Edwards. Got out to a 10-1 lead but they came back but we won 14-10 and once again played well to do so. 3rd game against Keith Paull and Ian Brighton.. Tough game and went down o last 2 ends but Keith and Ian played some wonderful shots otherwise we would have swamped them. Down 9-12. Ian Brighton got 2nd and we to 3rd thanks to better margins on 1st game.. Easy to play with Gorden as always bowls in head and I can play my attacking game but I drew very well today also after playing in the wet at Coolangatta weekend was a pleasure to get a free running green. No Bowls Today..
Selling Bowls, Buying a Car for Myself. Busy week ahead although not bowling. Daughter up from Sydney. Jupiters Free Food Fantasy Lunch for a 8 of us today. Ate so much I can't move. Look forward to Paradise Point ENDURO Bowls Tomorrow with Gorden Simms.. John Bailey and Brian Lamb and I again for Day 2. Hope weather is better today.
************************************************************************************************************* 1st game today it was clear and sunny. We played Scott De Jongh Side and they were on fire early and had us down 20-5 before we rallied strongly and ended up 14-22. If we had started like we finished we would have stopped their unbeaten run.. Good game… 2nd game in Bloody rain again. Played Gerrys Side for a convincing 23-11 win although after being 3-0 up after 2 end and then they converted the next 6 to be 3-8 but we then came home strongly. 3rd game, A Non event. We played just 6 end to show we respected the tournament but unpleasant conditions and neither side to win anything, we called it a day. Paddy, Ray Glasser and Millsie. We were up 5-0 after 3 and down 5-6 after 6 when we pulled the pin but a pity as would have been good game game if it has meant something to either side. A good 2 days dispite the weather and Very happy with My Game. Greens ran well although slowish. Certainly suited my bowls.. Day 1 with Brian Lamb (Skip) and John Bailey (Lead). Rained All Day On and Off and Got soaked but we played pretty all day on the Good running greens dispite the Rain.
1st game we drew against Larry Pointing, Todd Mackintosh and Neville Jenkins. Matched them all the way and 13-13 after 18 ends but dropped a 4 and ended up going down 13-18. John and I played very well but Brian struggled a little in the Conversions. 2nd game against Visitors from Melbourne with John Clear as Lead. We had a Great win 26-11. Well all played well in this one. 3rd Game. Led all the way against Bobby Merrin's Burleigh Team but lost on the last end and the last Bowl. John and I failed on the last end and left Brian in the Shit. A slide got the win for the opposition. Good close game but should have won it… I was supposed to be Bowling at Paradise Point with Reg Germon but my Daughter is arriving from Sydney at 8.25am flight which means I had to Cancel game today.
Will be going up to Paradise Point around Lunch time anyway as Have some Bowls to Pick up for Reselling. Rainy day but I was not Bowling anyway.
So Glad I am not Bowling today as have 7 sets of Bowls to Clean and Put on Gumtree and Ebay and sell. I currently have about 18 sets for sale… Its all good fun…
10.09am Sold 1 set already…. Trying to see if Greens are better than they were last month and playing here today with John Ritchie… See how we go….
****************************************************************************************************************** Greens are running pretty well here now and the wind made it a bit tricky thats all but John and I handled it ok.. 1st game against John Hammersly and David Day and we had a great win 17-8 (8 ends) 2nd game against Tony Cox and Bob Mckay, We totally outplayed them for a 21-5 win (!0 ends) and won the Money for the day.,\ Was pretty easy playing with John Ritchie as a specialist lead and never far away. I skipped pretty well all day also so that was great, Owing to the Australian Open at Broadbeach there are No Bowls there for me and Latif today.
Just as well as I have 7 sets of Bowls to put on Ebay and Gumtree and that will take me all day by the time I clean and polish and put them all on. |
