Day Off today unless someone rings me for a game. Dont care one way or another..,
Kevin Watson and I played here today and Won all 3 games and both played very good howls but ended up 3rd place as we just could not get a margin. 1st game against Jim and Kim Harlow we won 19-10. Dropping a 3 on the last end was the low point of the game. 2nd game against Erwin Achtzein and David (Logan City) we won 15-7. 3rd game we needed a margin against John Bennett and Aldo Cunial but they played good bowls too and we just got up 12-10. 3 good games and another brilliant day on the indoor.
Joan Wallis and I played Andrew Cole and Peter Elder (Musgrave Hill) and had a terrific game. We lost 19-27 but it was a hard fought game. I was Lead and Joan Skipped very well but a few ends in mid game cost us when Peter Converted some good shots. Overall a Great Day again with all the Prawns you could eat and a great game of Competitive bowls.
Away to Helensvale today. Wonder how we will go today? Lets hope we click. We need a win to stay in Div 1 and what better game to win. Helensvale have a few players on duty elsewhere. They are still strong.
Well, I had a surprise when I arrived and got my 1st chance to Skip this season. Gorden Simms, Clint, Dave Favley and Myself played Anthony Fantinis team. Gorden and Clint played very well and certainly kept us in the game early and we were down 4-11 after 8 ends. We fought back well and managed to get up 21-20 in a tense finish. I was scratchy early as not used to quicker green here but managed to find some good shots when needed towards the end including kitty in ditch on 18th end for a 4 and gave bus a winning lead. Dave played some good bowls when it mattered too. Chris Hoopers side had a close game in the end and went down 18-22 against Anthony Keipe and Andy Wintons side went down rather heavily to Brett Wilkie. Auctions again in Brissy Today.
Bob Barry and I were supposed to play together but Bob was crook so Pat McCloskey filled in. It was good to have another game with her and she used her new Powers and went pretty well with them too. We both played good and bad and against Glenn Bryan and Peter McBriety, never had much luck and went down 13-26. Good fun morning in the nice warm weather for a change. Green ran well.
