Pennant Trials for most clubs in Queensland Gold Coast today. I am not involved so am able to play championships without rushing and trying to change dates etc. Certainly wont miss Pennant as plenty of Pairs games on Saturday if I want to play but will probably have Saturdays off and just play Sunday comps.

Billy Creedon, Myself and John Turner played Barry Veneer, Graham Lake and Greg Goode. Barry and Graham played well up front all day and Made Greg "Goode Goode Gumdrops" job easy although Greg himself drew some lovely shots and played very well. Billy and John struggled early and we could just not get ahead and were always a shot of 2 behind and chasing. Many times holding numbers only to get cut down or cut out by opposition bowls. We went down in the end 16-23. Oh well another semi final defeat.
If This was being written for the Cabarita News letter It would go something like this.
Barry Venner and Graham Lake had the opposition drowning in a fine effort with "Goode Goode Gumdrops" steering the ship home to a fine win against the Highly fancied opposition. After a slow start, Billy "Creedon Clearwater had a Revival", and got a few close to give the opposition a fighting chance but Bernie "Slider" Lamberton and John Turner just had no answer for the sheer power of the great effort from Barry, Graham and Greg. Well done Guys.... Well Deserved Victory.
