A Very Good days Bowls. I Skipped and Alan Led and I always had bowls there abouts.
1st game against Bob Avery and Erwin A. We started well and up 9-1 after 5 ends but they clawed their way back and I dropped a 5 on 8th end to let them lead 9-10. We were 13-12 up on last end and holding 1 shot and Erwin had a drive which was wide but clipped a side bowl and somehow sneaked in for shot. With my last bowl, I played it well and connected with the Jack and moved Kitty between Ours and Their Bowl and we lost measure by 1cm to end with a 13-13 draw. 2nd game against Ray Trewern and Fred Barnes we had a good 33-7 win on Rink 1. We managed to get the run of the green a little better and had a good win. 3rd game against Lief Andersen and John McVinish we had a good 17-10 win after a slow start and down 2-8, we picked up a 7 and never looked back. Got 3rd place and would have won by miles with the margin we ahd if we had won 1st game instead of draw. Thats the way it goes.
Ron Lewis and Ted Reid Won on a count Back, 2nd was Ian Brighton and Merv Austin.
